|EN: A different type of post today; a recipe! I’m not planning in turning my blog into a food blog any time soon, but I just had to share this one! When I was on a city trip in Maastricht in June, the weather was very hot and I drank a melon iced tea on a terrace. And it was so delicious! When I came home, I tried to find it in the grocery stores, but I couldn’t find any place selling it. However, with the warm weather the past few weeks, I just couldn’t get this delicious refreshing drink off my mind and so I decided to try and make it myself! And, as I do really like the result myself, I’m now sharing the recipe with you! I hope it will make you just as happy as it made me, haha!||
What you need
– A blender
How to make it
Boil about a liter of water. Add some sugar to it depending on your taste. If you’re not that much of a sweet tooth you can maybe even leave all the sugar out. That’s also a lot more healthy, of course! Make sure all the sugar is dissolved. Then put the tea bags in the water and leave them in there for about 5 to 15 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. Take the tea bags out, poor it into a can and leave the tea to cool to room temperature. Then, put it in the refridgerator to let it cool even more. If you don’t have more than 1 can (like me), you can also just put the pan in the fridge, of course!
|EN: And now… off to the melon part! Slice half of the melon in pieces and put it in the blender. If you don’t have one of those handy blenders which have a special receptacle for pulp, you also need to poor all of it through a strainer to make sure you only have juice and no pulp.
Time to mix the tea with the melon juice! Add as much tea to the melon juice as you like. Just taste it and stop adding tea, when you think the taste is right. After that, I chose to put it back in the fridge again, to make sure it would be really really cool. Add some ice and your delicious refreshing summer drink is done!
