Yesterday I showed you my first holiday outfit and today it’s time for my first travel diary about my trip! Me and my boyfriend were on vacation for two weeks in the south of Italy. We spent most of our days relaxing, but we also did some day trips. The first of those trips was a visit to Naples! The center of Naples is really pretty, the traffic is crazy and there are a ton of cute streets with clotheslines full with colorful clothes. In this post, I will show you my photos of Naples and I’ll also share some tips of things I think were the most fun to do and see in Naples! I hope you like it!
Piazza Plebiscito (above) is a big square in the center of Naples. There’s a gorgeous church on it with tons of marble columns. This church was the shooting location of yesterday’s outfit post!
There are tons of cute little streets with little Italian flags like these!
The above 5 photos are taking in the underground tunnel system of Naples. You can do a two hour tour in these tunnels and I really recommend doing this when you are in Naples! The underground tunnels have a very cool history; it was created in ancient times to cut stone from the tunnel walls, in order to create houses, but was later also used as an aquaduct by the Romans and as a hiding place in the second world war. There’s even a part of the tour where you’re walking in a fully dark tunnel with only a candle light. How cool!
Naples is famous for its limoncello, which happens to be one of my favorite liquors. So when we bumped into a shop dedicated to limoncello and all things lemon, we just had to go in. They even had lemon honey! We bought some yummy souvenirs here!
The above shots were all taken at a gorgeous castle we bumped into. We already knew about the famous Castel Nuovo at the Naples harbour, but we found this Castel dell’Ovo by accident. It’s a gorgeous castle, free of access and it was really quiet! We had a great time strolling there!
When in Naples, one must obviously visit the restaurant which is said to be the first and best pizzeria in the world! It’s called l’Antica Pizzeria da Michele, and you can only choose between a margerita or a marinara. And it’s really cheap!
And last, but most definitely NOT least, we had a gelato at Fantasia Gelato twice! It was so good! Best ice cream I’ve ever had!
So, what do you think of the photos? Did you ever visit Naples? If so, what did you like the most?
