Already a bit of a while ago, I received the peeling puff and sheet mask from the brand Starskin. I didn’t know the brand yet, but it immediately appealed to me because of the retro packaging. The packages remind me of old school film posters. The font in which the characteristics of the products are written on the packages, looks very similar to the font in which they used to write the names of movie stars on film posters. To make a long story short; the packages appealed to me, it turned out to be cruelty free, and it’s always nice to use a peeling or mask every once and a while, so I decided to test them!
Above you can see what the packages look like unopened, and below you can see what is in those packages; a foil package in which you’ll find the product, and instructions. I didn’t even read the instruction manual, because I found the instructions on the back of the packages clear enough on its own.
Below you find the instructions of the peeling puff, like they are stated on the back of the package. Very clear, I don’t really see anything going wrong there.
On the photo below, you see what the puff looks like. Personally, I really liked the way this worked. It scrubs your skin, but it’s also really soft and foamy. Afterwards, my skin was a lot softer than before.
Starskin recommends to first use the peeling puff and then the mask, so that’s exactly what I did. Below you see the instructions of the mask. You have to peel off the two outer layers of the mask and then place it on your skin. Starskin says to make sure that there are no wrinkles or air pockets. Which I found to be easier said than done, but I finally managed due to the slight elasticity of the mask.
The mask was a bit prickly at first, but this isn’t a problem as long as it doesn’t feel like it’s burning or hurting too much. After a few minutes this feeling was gone. In total, you leave the mask on for 15 to 20 minutes. When you pull it off, you don’t have to clean your skin afterwards. You can even leave the remaining serum, and massage the rest of it into your skin for extra nourishment. I did this and it made my skin feel soft, and the serum was quickly absorbed in my skin.
In winter, I always have extremely dry skin. I can even use vaseline or baby salve as day cream, and that will even be absorbed by my skin in less than 10 minutes. So, a moisturizing mask is actually great for me. After I used the mask, my skin felt much softer and also less dry. I did feel like I needed to use day cream when I went outside, as extra protection from the cold. But like I said, I do have extremely dry skin in winter. The peeling puff feels really soft on the skin, and it’s a great way to peel your skin in a mild way. My skin also felt soft after using this. All in all, both the peeling puff and the sheet mask are great for pampering yourself.
Did you already know this brand?
I received the products in this post for free.
However, I was not asked to do this review.
