In the blog post series ‘Talking Style’ I’m interviewing fellow bloggers about their style. And I ask them for tips of fun unknown shops, and how to find your own style! This time, I’m talking style with Frederique from FAB le Frique! So, time to get to know her and her style a little better!
1. How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as simple or minimal, also feminine but with an edge. You could place it in the category Swedish / Danish I guess. I love to get all dressed up and go full out glam, but I would also wear a casual pair of pants, with a cosy sweater and ankle boots. I dress according to how I feel.
2. What can visitors expect when they land on your blog?
A style diary with a personal touch. I like to tell how I feel, what I experience and what I’m facing, but all of that with a touch of fashion.
3. What’s on top of your wishlist?
At the moment… ummm… A beautiful, really beautiful long black coat. I’ve been looking for one for ages, and I’m convinced that I’m going to find him (or her) in 2016. ;)
4. What’s your favorite go-to outfit?
Then I would go for less is more, but with some interesting twist. Casual pants (preferable khaki or black), black low cut (not too low) shirt, interesting cardigan (for example vintage, with a story), nice ankle boots, cool watch, black nails and of course the golden necklace from my Indonesian grandmother.
5. Who’s your biggest (fashion) inspiration or example?
Pernille Teisbaek from Denmark for sure. If I only had more money to spend. ;)
6. Which item in your closet is your absolute favorite?
Because it’s winter, that is currently my vintage faux fur coat.
7. Any smaller or unknown brands we need to know about?
8. What is your favorite trend at the moment?
Hmm.. Difficult. I obviously do pick up on different trends, but I must say that I never really specifically buy an item because of the trend. So let’s see, I would say something retro to give my looks an interesting touch. For example a cool pair of sunglasses or retro white Reeboks.
9. And last, but not least, any tips for people who are currently figuring out their own style?
First have a look in your closet, and specifically at the items you like to wear most. Note the reason why you like wearing them, and what it is in them that appeals to you. Then have a look at how you would like to dress in theory, and find the happy medium of those two. This way you’ll devolope your style slowly, but surely. And also very important: have fun with it! Good luck!
