April 30, 2016
Three weeks ago I was at the launch event of Shop ‘n Style. This was such a fun event, so I decided to still share my photos and experience. Because better late than never right? The event was all about fair and slow fashion, which is a subject that I’m really starting to think about more and more lately. And so it was super interesting for me to be at this event. The event started with a short talk by Merel of a well-known Dutch vegan blog ‘The Green Girls‘. She told us about what she does with fair fashion, and also answered some questions about blogging. After that we had lunch, and then we went outside for the fair fashion tour in Utrecht. In this tour, we stopped at 4 shops, which all contribute to fair and slow fashion in their own way. In this post, I’m telling you a little something about all these 4 stores, and of course, I’m showing pictures! I hope you ike it! Are you concerned with fair and/or slow fashion? And what do you think of these shops? :-)
PUHA – Voorstraat 48, Utrecht
PUHA sells clothes and accesories by young Dutch designers. This store’s interior is so cute! I really liked the yellow threads with light bulbs they had hanging around the store. My favorite items are the shoes on the second photo below. Perfect for summer! In PUHA we also had a short workshop color and style, in which we learned about what color type we are. Very interesting!
Hutspot – Vinkenburgstraat 19, Utrecht
I already knew Hutspot from Amsterdam, but there’s also one in Utrecht! Hutspot is a concept store, which sells both clothes and interior accessories. And it als has a café and bar. The interior is really nice, and there was just so much in the store I would really like in my own interior. At Hutspot Utrecht, they also sell items made by Utrecht based designers.
Het Kaufhaus – Achter Clarenburg 32, Utrecht
Het Kaufhaus also has a store in Amsterdam, but I hadn’t visited that one yet. But this store is so cool! Their interior is amazing, and their clothing offer is also great! I got myself a lovely scarf there. Het Kaufhaus is a vintage store, which is also a nice example of a fair and slow way to deal with fashion. The clothing they sell comes from those charity bins, and a part of their profits directly goes to some good causes. Great! At Het Kaufhaus, we also had a fun photography workshop.
Nukuhiva – Zadelstraat 36, Utrecht
Nukuhiva is a slow and fair fashion store. All brands they sell, are slow or fair in some way. They sell tops made of bamboo, shoes by TOMS, natural soap, and even tights made from recycled material! I wanted to get a black pair with black dots, but unfortunately this one was sold out. Maybe some other time!
All in all, this was such a fun event. It was great to check out all these stores. Also, the other girls who were there were all so nice! I really had such a great day!
Do you do anything with fair or slow fashion? And what do you think of these stores? :-)
