Last week, I went to Amsterdam FashionWeek! Last Thursday, I already posted this video of the 4 shows I went to. And today, I’m showing the photos of two of those four shows. The second and last part of the photos will be online on Tuesday. In this post, I’m sharing my photos of the SIS by Spijkers & Spijkers show, and the Tess van Zalinge show, for spring/summer 2017. For both shows, I will share a bit of background information of the idea and inspiration behind the collection. And I’m sharing my favorite designs! I hope you ilke it! And I’m also very curious for your favorites!
The SS17 collection of Spijkers & Spijkers is called ‘Eden’ and is a reference to Paradise of Adam and Eve. The background of the runway was a beach with palm trees, which fits perfectly with my personal idea of paradise. The sisters Spijkers are known for their colorful prints, which are always present in their collections. This time, there were a lot of prints with leaves, but also a kissing couple, and snakes. I’m personally always a big fan of their prints. Especially because, the longer you look at them, the more you see. My favorites from the collection are the burgundy and gold suit with bermuda shorts, the orange and black striped skirt, and the flowy blue and green transparent dress with the belt. Special shout-out to the belt, by the way! I really like the fact that it’s extra long, such that you can twist it around your waist multiple times. I would wear it in a minute!
The Tess van Zalinge SS17 collection is called ‘Status Quo Ante’, and is about support, structure, and Dutch craft. Tess combines lingerie with upper wear, inspired by Dutch folklore. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of photos from this show. I had a standing spot in the back, so I wasn’t really able to take good photos. But I did insert some in this post, to give you an idea. There were bodies in the collection, which looked like lingerie at the bottom, and like tops on the upper half of the body. One of my favorites was the one with the lace upper and turtle neck, which is featured in the shots below!
So, what do you think of these collections? And which designs or outfits are your favorites?
